FLIPSIDE FEST 2022

This festival is new to all of us. It’s been really fun. Take sunscreen, a jacket, comfy shoes, empty water bottles to fill, earplugs. Also bring an empty beer cup, it will save you money with some vendors.

You’ll find music/beverage/food stages every couple of blocks. Start at the VAC, it’s where the Main Stage is. Then start wandering, or following the crowds. Grab a map at the ticket tent. Pro tip : The VAC and Somewhere Bar, both near the main stage. They are open and air conditioned, with real bathrooms, good seating, and affordable drinks!

I’ve seen a couple of people take their dogs to very loud stages, and I really don’t understand why you would do this to your dog.

It’s been great to see this festival take shape, and the weather was perfect.

From Chinden to the river, you’ll find so many surprises that are a part of Flipside Fest. On a random street, I found a roller skate dance party! The stage had flashing lights, with 8-10 people skating in the dark to Prince’s “Sexy M.F.” It was an awesome display, and only a couple of people were watching. Go find this stage, it’s free. In fact, there are a few stages you can peer into if you want to check them out. There are bands, DJ’s, beer and food booths just about everywhere.

We’re a few days into fall, and this is our last chance to “people” for a while. The weather is perfect. Garden City never looked so beautiful.

Shaina Shepherd gave us an interview at The VAC before their show at Barbarian. This Seattle singer is very faceted. Hear the podcast HERE. Shaina and her band will return in November to play at Olympic Venue.
