PORIJ, CASSANDRA LEWIS, AND JOE P AT TREEFORT DAY 3

Porij photo

Treefort Day 3 was much fun. After work I headed to the Record Exchange for a set from the British band Porij. Rolling Stone Magazine voted them one of the top 25 groups to watch from England.

Their new album “Teething” will be released April 26th. You can pre-order it at The Record Exchange!

Lead singer Eggy joked that it was a really mellow set, but that their Treefort set would be much more intense.

This was their first time in Boise, and they said they loved being able to play at Treefort.

After the Porij set, I ran back up to work to join Tim at his interview with Cassandra Lewis. She’s a Boise artist who has just been signed to Low Country Sound, an offshoot of Elektra records. It’s the same label as Brandi Carlile. Cassandra was really kind and amazing, she gave Tim and I stickers, and a packet of seeds. This song gets an “oh my hamburgers” from Tim.

After the Cassandra Lewis session, I ran back down to The Record Exchange for a session from Joe P. Many thanks to Team Taylor for capturing video as I arrived in the middle of his set. I really needed this backup to make everything work today. His set was originally going to be 4 hours earlier, but his flight times changed.

Much gratitude to The Record Exchange for sharing audio for me to remix for these videos. Joe P said that for the first time, his label called and asked where his new music was. This had him stressed out a bit, and he said he was up 40 hours creating music before he got into Boise. He later did another show at Payette Brewing!

Saturday join us at 1pm for the Sun Atoms show at The Record Exchange. Sunday, we’ll have a live on-air session from DEHD at 12 noon, then an in-store at The Record Exchange with Marnie Stern at 1 pm, free and all-ages!
