Brett Dennen at Western Proper

We had a contest for a special lunch show with Brett Dennen. Western Proper is a beautiful space downtown on Idaho Street. Their food is pretty amazing. I had a smash burger with garlic truffle fries. This venue has a bar dining room, and big open space with hoop games, and even a couple of bowling lanes! Western Proper makes this place feel like a real city.

Dozens of River listeners won the contest. People happily ate lunch, had some drinks, and enjoyed an acoustic show with Brett.

Brett told me he has had a good summer, spent some time in the Sierra and hopes to visit Vermont and San Diego soon. He told the audience he has even played in someone’s back yard, and mentioned how important music is to bring people together right now. We are so lucky he flew here just for this show. I can hardly think of anyone more chill to work with or be around. He doesn’t seem to mind when the millionth person asks him how tall he is. “6 – 5.”

We had a great time with Brett Dennen at Western Proper. Check this place out, and remember they’ll be hosting several Treefort bands next month.

Join us tomorrow at 1pm (8/26) for a live session with Sarah Kays at 1pm in the Blue Moon Listener Lounge. She will be opening the Mt. Joy show at The Knitting Factory.
