Hozier and Jade Bird

This was a show that sold out in just minutes when it was first announced. There was an excitement in the air, and people had a huge positive reaction to opener Jade Bird. We had really hoped to get her into the studio, but it didn’t work out for some reason. Her set was strong and seemed short, people really loved her.

Tim had earlier done a very small Meet & Greet and said that Hozier was amazing and kind. Tim says we should be getting some hand-written cards that Hozier recently used in a video, they will be part of our Concert For Cause auction in December.

Rumor has it that Hozier hung out a bit at Wild Root Cafe. I still haven’t been and hope to try it someday.

Thankfully I had a photo pass for this one. There were 2 other photographers, they had the barricades in tighter than I’d ever seen and it was hard to get in and out. We only got to shoot the first 3 songs, and song 2 was entirely backlit with lights right in our faces. Grabbed a couple of fun shots, anyway.

Leaving the concert is was pouring rain and I was in a group crossing Front Street on the crosswalk. When it said “walk,” I walked and got slammed into hard by a bicyclist who had run the red light. I fought to stay upright and not lose my camera. The girl flew off her bike and crashed hard. She apologized many times and the group tended to her. I’m really sore today but should be fine in a few days.  Please if you ride a bike, STOP at stoplights instead of hauling through them?

See you at Car Wars!
