It consists of a 29-mile paved greenbelt path that is a common transportation route in the Treasure Valley and it supplies endless opportunities for outdoor fun: providing opportunities to play fetch with your dog friends\, birdwatch\, fish for rainbow and brown trout\, relax along its riverbanks\, and the all-time summer favorite activity — floating a 6-mile section of the river that extends from Barber Park to Ann Morrison park. Last year\, Boise Parks and Recreation reported that 130\,000 people enjoyed a refreshing float. \nThe Boise River flows through the heart of the Treasure Valley community and has added significantly to our local culture. Idaho Rivers United and 94.9 the River know how important the Boise River is to the Treasure Valley community and we want to make sure it stays beautiful and healthy for everyone to enjoy. In 2024\, our organizations partnered for our first ever End of Float Season cleanup\, we rallied 205 amazing volunteers from our community and removed a whopping 850 pounds of trash. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho can join? Everyone!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe invite you\, your friends\, your family and coworkers to sign up and join us for this incredibly fun and impactful event! \nWhat to expect:\n\n\nVolunteers will meet at Idaho River Sports located at 601 N Whitewater Park Blvd\, Boise\, ID 83702\, groups will be invited to start the check-in process prior to the beginning of the cleanup. After gathering your cleanup supplies and reviewing cleanup guidelines we will send you out to your assigned section of the Boise Greenbelt. \n\n\nVolunteers will meet back at Idaho River Sports following the cleanup for the Afterparty – hosted by Idaho River Sports – to weigh the trash you collected! This exciting celebration will be filled with music\, food trucks\, beverages provided by Barbarian Brewing\, trash themed games\, and most importantly a giveaway raffle filled with some super exciting prizes for everyone that joined the clean-up. \n\n\nSpecific timings on the cleanup and the party are to be determined. \n\n\nSupplies needed? None! \nIRU and our partners will provide all of the cleanup supplies needed–garbage bags\, disposable gloves\, and hand sanitizer. Volunteers are more than welcome to bring their own supplies\, if they prefer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event isn’t just a cleanup—it’s a party! After all the hard work\, stick around for a community celebration and afterparty hosted by 94.9 The River and Idaho River Sports. The actors & participants come up with the plots\, and dialogue\, and then our featured filmmaker helps us bring it to life. All you have to do is show up with creativity and register at the door. There are many ways to be involved\, such as an actor\, a grip\, a camera operator\, a sound operator\, a lighting operator\, or in charge of costumes. You choose. At this FREE event\, youth through adults create a movie in 2 hours\, using Vale’s local murals\, historic buildings\, and most importantly a green screen\, transporting us to anywhere we may desire. The film created is premiered during the Children’s Film Festival & Film-maker’s Competition\, each Sept. SUMMARY:VALE CHILDREN'S FILM FESTIVAL - SEPT. 26TH
DESCRIPTION:The Drexel Foundation’s Film Festival is held at the 1914 historic Rex Theater in Sept. each year in Vale\, just a short drive from Boise! The evening is a showcase of the movies entered into Drexel Foundation’s “Film-Maker Competition…. for kids\, by kids\, and with kids in mind”. Additionally\, the premiere of the movie created at the Drexel Crash Course is played preceding the entries and following the awards ceremony. There is no fee to enter this competition; however\, late submissions after the deadline are accepted for a $20 fee. One does not need to be present to win! This competition is open to all ages\, to everyone\, from anywhere. \n\nThere are four (4) age categories\, 4-11\, 12-14\, 15-19\, and 20 & up\, with 1st place winners in each category taking home $25 gift certificates. The best overall film wins a $100 cash prize; however\, all participants still go home with a sack full of prizes. There are trophies awarded for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place in each age category. The films can be a longer narrative piece\, a short\, a photo slideshow\, an animation\, or a documentary. All entries must be rated PG\, since this film festival theme is “For Kids\, By Kids and with Kids in Mind”. We invite all ages to use their voice and create a video or film; one that they can share with their grandmother. We get a wide range of styles and topics each year\, from a recycling documentary to a skit to a video about making a video. The videos can be submitted via YouTube link\, MP4 or WMV file\, or a DVD. Drexel Foundation Staff can help you if you need assistance with your submission format. The cost to attend the Film Festival is $5.00 for kids and $7.00 for adults. All filmmakers who enter a film for the competition get two free tickets for admission on the night of the event. Come see these great movies\, or walk on the red carpet with these artists.

DESCRIPTION:The Idaho Japanese Association is delighted to announce the 16th annual Japan\nDay 2026 at the Gene Harris Bandshell\, Julia Davis Park\, on Sunday\, September 27 from 12-4pm.\nThis festival is one of Idaho’s largest Japanese culture celebrations\, featuring traditional\nperformances\, cultural booths\, food\, and family friendly activities.\nThis year’s program includes Japanese dance\, Calligraphy performance\, Taiko drumming\,\nShamisen\, Koto (Japanese harp)\, martial arts\, origami\, and traditional Japanese festival games.\nGuests can explore cultural displays\, buy traditional Japanese items\, enjoy authentic performances\,\nand experience an afternoon in a little Japan in the city of Boise.\nThis year’s special guests include:\nRinsen Wakayagi (Rin no Kai LA) is a Shihan-level Nihonbuyo dancer with 40 years of\nexperience. She founded “Rin no Kai LA” and has performed all throughout LA. Formerly a\nJapanese Jidaigeki (Samurai play) actress\, she established the NPO Pacific Theatre Production\nCorp to promote Japanese culture to youth globally and teaches Tea Ceremony and Kimono\ndressing in the US and Japan.\nSORA (SORA Shodo / 宇宙書道) is a sumi ink calligraphy and live performance artist with\nroots in Usuki\, Oita\, Japan\, now based in Portland\, Oregon. Her artist name — meaning\nuniverse and sky — was given to her by her late calligraphy master. She creates traditional\ncalligraphy works and dynamic live performances throughout the Pacific Northwest\, and is\naffiliated with the Sogen calligraphy association in Japan under Futo Suzuki-sensei.\nAbout the Idaho Japanese Association\nThe Idaho Japanese Association (IJA) was founded in 2008 to support Japanese citizens living in Idaho and to share\nJapanese culture with the community.
