SUMMARY:SOUL ASYLUM LIVE SESSION
DESCRIPTION:LIVE SESSION AT NOON IN OUR LISTENER LOUNGE! LISTEN ON 94.9 THE RIVER\, OR WATCH ON FACEBOOK AT RIVERBOISE. \nAlt-rock legends Soul Asylum bring their timeless catalog to the Revolution Concert House in Garden City. Rising out of the Minneapolis rock scene\, the band broke through to massive success in the ’90s with the Grammy-winning smash “Runaway Train\,” alongside beloved hits like “Somebody to Shove\,” “Black Gold\,” and “Misery.” Decades in\, Soul Asylum still delivers the raw energy\, jangly guitars\, and heartfelt songwriting that made them a defining voice of the era — and their live shows remain as spirited and authentic as ever. \nThe Revolution Concert House is one of the Treasure Valley’s premier live-music venues — a spacious indoor concert hall in Garden City known for its great sightlines\, powerful sound system\, and easy on-site parking\, just minutes from downtown Boise. Whether you’ve loved Soul Asylum since the ’90s or you’re discovering them now\, it’s a nostalgic\, high-energy night of great rock.

It consists of a 29-mile paved greenbelt path that is a common transportation route in the Treasure Valley and it supplies endless opportunities for outdoor fun: providing opportunities to play fetch with your dog friends\, birdwatch\, fish for rainbow and brown trout\, relax along its riverbanks\, and the all-time summer favorite activity — floating a 6-mile section of the river that extends from Barber Park to Ann Morrison park. Last year\, Boise Parks and Recreation reported that 130\,000 people enjoyed a refreshing float. \nThe Boise River flows through the heart of the Treasure Valley community and has added significantly to our local culture. Idaho Rivers United and 94.9 the River know how important the Boise River is to the Treasure Valley community and we want to make sure it stays beautiful and healthy for everyone to enjoy. In 2024\, our organizations partnered for our first ever End of Float Season cleanup\, we rallied 205 amazing volunteers from our community and removed a whopping 850 pounds of trash. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho can join? Everyone!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe invite you\, your friends\, your family and coworkers to sign up and join us for this incredibly fun and impactful event! \nWhat to expect:\n\n\nVolunteers will meet at Idaho River Sports located at 601 N Whitewater Park Blvd\, Boise\, ID 83702\, groups will be invited to start the check-in process prior to the beginning of the cleanup. After gathering your cleanup supplies and reviewing cleanup guidelines we will send you out to your assigned section of the Boise Greenbelt. \n\n\nVolunteers will meet back at Idaho River Sports following the cleanup for the Afterparty – hosted by Idaho River Sports – to weigh the trash you collected! This exciting celebration will be filled with music\, food trucks\, beverages provided by Barbarian Brewing\, trash themed games\, and most importantly a giveaway raffle filled with some super exciting prizes for everyone that joined the clean-up. \n\n\nSpecific timings on the cleanup and the party are to be determined. \n\n\nSupplies needed? None! \nIRU and our partners will provide all of the cleanup supplies needed–garbage bags\, disposable gloves\, and hand sanitizer. Volunteers are more than welcome to bring their own supplies\, if they prefer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event isn’t just a cleanup—it’s a party! After all the hard work\, stick around for a community celebration and afterparty hosted by 94.9 The River and Idaho River Sports. We’ll have vendors\, delicious food trucks\, refreshing shaved ice\, lively music\, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages\, and trash themed games. Plus\, as a thank you for your hard work\, all volunteers will be entered into a raffle for some great prizes! And that’s not all—Idaho River Sports is offering special in-store discounts and discounts on rentals just for volunteers\, and they’ll be donating 10% of all in-store sales to Idaho Rivers United. \nSo come clean the river and party with us on September 12th! \nFor questions about the End of Float Season Cleanup contact Lindsey Paynter at lindsey@idahorivers.org.

SUMMARY:WINE EATS AND ARTIFACTS - SEPT. 17TH
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Wine\, Eats\, & Artifacts\, a memorable evening of food\, wine\, auctions\, and philanthropy at the Old Idaho Penitentiary. This year’s gala officially launches A City Behind Walls\, a transformative reimagining of the site’s visitor experience.\nGuests will get an exclusive first look at Phase 1 of the project\, including a sneak peek inside the newly renovated survey gallery before it opens to the public. Proceeds from the evening support the next chapter of one of Idaho’s most significant historic sites.\nBuilt largely by inmates and operating from 1872 to 1973\, the Old Idaho Penitentiary housed more than 13\,000 individuals during its 101-year history. Today\, A City Behind Walls is shaping a new way to explore and reflect on the stories of justice\, law\, and society that continue to resonate today!
