City Steps: Remembering Chinatown – Boise’s Vanished Neighborhood

The Quong family has deep roots in the Boise Valley. Louie Quong immigrated in the early 1900s and started truck gardening on the Tom Davis estate. In 1935, Louie and his wife Mabel bought land in Eagle and ran Quong’s Berry Farm for decades, selling their famous strawberries throughout the valley. Photograph: Louie Quong and family, c. 1927.
