It had been 10 years since Zella Day visited us in studio. She found her old signature on our wall! I first saw her perform a couple years before that at Bumbershoot, in Seattle.
Joined by Zella’s Partner Jesse Woods, and producer Beau Bedford, Chaparelle is Zella Day’s new band. They are really onto something with their sound and harmonies! Influenced by artists like George Jones and Emmylou Harris, their songwriting chemistry had them writing 5 songs in 3 days! Here’s a wonderful cover.
Raised a rancher’s daughter in Arizona, Zella mentioned that her sister is on the album cover. The album is called, “Western Pleasure.” Ther are SO many good songs on this release!
Some of their favorite band experiences included a big smile and guitar pick from Nile Rodgers, and Tanya Tucker removing her eyelashes before offering a handshake.
Chaparelle will be one to watch this year, there are a ton of possible singles on this new album. Be sure to add it to your playlist. This on is my favorite!
Next session will be 9/30 with Amanda Shires!
