Get your boots and dancing shoes ready for a great show at Olympic Venue 9/30. Boot Juice will play a show, and Lounge on Fire will be there as well!
The band took shots of our “wall of fame,” where we have autographs of many River and X sessions we’ve had over the years. They were really excited about signatures from OTEP, Shook Twins, Dead Sara, and Kyle Gass. I don’t get to write blogs about the X sessions, but I promise you there are SO MANY stories!
Jess drew a great logo on the wall before they left.

Boot Juice is such a fun group. A couple of them started as river guides on the Payette River, playing acoustic songs in bars along the way, including Dirty Shame Saloon. They bought their current tour bus from Cascade Raft and Kayaks. They have been working on new music, and expect a new album next year. This is one of the newest songs.
Their bass player has a degree in Broadcast and Electronic Arts from San Francisco. They talked about doing some of their own recording and using Pro Tools. They thought about last minute trying to change a vocal mic from the EV RE-20 I prefer, but we stuck with what has worked best. From Anthrax to Doobie Brothers to Emmylou Harris, this mic has been a tank that I stand by 100% for sessions. It never distorts, and never creates Plosives or ssssibilance.
The band will travel to SLC and a few other shows, then they will be back for their 9/30 show at Olympic Venue with Lounge on Fire. We will have some free tickets the day of the show, and some CD’s and vinyl they shared with us. I don’t know if you’ve been in Mulligan’s when there’s a hoppin’ show upstairs, but their roof and upper bar actually sways up and down as people jump and dance! This will be a dancing show.
The Boot Juice session was something I asked Tim to do. He had not heard of them and at first gave a curious look. Once in studio, we were all having a blast. The band was smiling, jumping, bouncing, having a great time. I always wonder what our downstairs office neighbors think about these events. Boot Juice surprised me with both instrument leads and vocal leads that changed within the song, keeping me on my toes and loving today at work. The sax and guitars flirted with each other within the songs.
Watch here about 3 minutes in to see a big smile on the sax player’s face, as he reaches the note he wanted to get! Such a fun song.
Make sure to see their show 9/30 at Olympic Venue with Lounge On Fire. Don’t have tickets yet? Get ’em HERE.
