Mail call at the Craters of the Moon National Park. They received this note along with a rock from the park, taken decades ago.
There are signs posted that say don’t take rocks or plants from the park. Last time I visited, I saw those signs and still slipped a rainbow glittery lava rock into my pocket. Have you done that? Should I mail it back? Maybe just take it back in person. It’s been a few years.
Last time my family visited Craters, we hiked up a cinder cone. And while it looks like those people on the top are at the top, there is another cone to climb beyond that view before getting to the real top.
