Eilen Jewell dropped in for a one-on-one session before her performances over the weekend at Boise Contemporary Theater. We each had a sip from our Idaho Kombuchas, and she caught me up her why she needs a little break from all the touring.
She gave us this precious cover of a classic Woody Guthrie song.
After the session, we chatted about some of Eilen’s favorite authors. She loves the classics, and books by Hemingway, Herman Hess, Pearl S. Buck, and Steinbeck.
You can catch Eilen twice this weekend at Boise Contemporary Theater. Tonight is the Art Happening/Bohemian Extravaganza. Saturday is a reading of the play, “Take the 7th Breath Twice,” featuring Eilen’s husband Blake Shield! Shows start at 7:30, don’t miss any of it. The Ghost Light Pub in the building is a great place to pre-funk, they’ll open 5:30 Friday, 6:30 Saturday!
