A year or two ago, I saw Trousdale, and their live show really made an impact on me with their first album. Their harmonies and music are so tight, I knew I had to try to get them in studio next time they came through. Quinn D’Andrea, Georgia Greene, and Lauren Jones were so nice the entire time!
Listeners gathered and enjoyed Port of Subs sandwiches. Our friends in Red Light Challenge donated the use of their keyboard for the band. It was a great community effort.
Their new album is “Growing Pains,” co-produced by John Mark Nelson who did Suki Waterhouse and Mt. Joy.
The girls in Trousdale met in college at USC, and have done a lot of touring. This summer, they will support the Lake Street Dive tour!
Tim asked about their color coordination, and they were so excited to talk about a California store they love, Big Bud Press! They have some really cool and trendy clothes for all sizes! I love the models on this page, they are real people. Trousdale loves the Power Puff colors.
Trousdale is partnering with The Ally Coalition on behalf of The California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund. $1 from each ticket will support both mid-term and long-term efforts to rebuild and restore the lives of California’s most affected and underserved populations.
I asked them if they had fun playing on the Kelly Clarkson Show, and their eyes lit up. I asked if they got to meet her, and if she is nice. They said, “absolutely as nice as you’d expect her to be!”
Oh my gosh, did I love mixing/remixing this band! For fun, I isolated their vocals so I could get goosebumps and hear where they were switching lead. They kept me on my toes, and hearing/seeing what they were doing technically made me love them even more.
Something awesome happened at the end of this session. Everyone stood up, grabbed a sandwich, and started visiting. I looked at all the different circles, some chatting with Trousdale, others chatting among friends. A couple of our techs who don’t listen to this style of music went on raving about their harmonies, and wanting to see the show. It was like a big family reunion, the kind where everyone gets along. On what might be a tough weekend such as this one, Trousdale really brought everyone together today. You can get special $13 ticket for Friday the 13th, to their show tonight at Shrine Social Club, with a full band!
Our next session so far, will be Tom Odell. He is opening for The Lumineers.
