Deck the Halls at the Boise Airport

I wasn’t sure it was going to happen this year, but it did. I was part of the crew that put up the holiday decorations at the Boise Airport. Deck the Halls with miles of garland.

Most of the garland decorates the rotunda. This is the non-security area. We tie it to the railings with pipe cleaners, then add bows and fluff the garland. It is squished into storage totes and has to be revived.

Little trees go up in front of the windows. My daughter Aviana got to drive the scissor lift. She said it was like a carnival ride.

We decorate trees, too. One in the greeting area.

Decorating is also done on the secured side, after TSA checks out all the supplies to make sure they’re safe.

The biggest tree usually goes in the conference room. But because there are no parties this year, we put it in the underground tunnel that employees use. It’s certainly an area that could use some cheer.

We will take it all down on January 1st.
