Pinball Collection Pt. 11

Inspired by the social media posts about favorite books, original art and albums, I’m featuring one pinball machine at a time from my family’s collection. Today, it’s Disco Fever, from the Williams Electronics Company, 1978. First things first. This is NOT John Travolta.

Here is the movie art poster for comparison. The pinball Disco Fever guy has much fancier pants.

Disco dance moves are listed on the play field of this game. I had no idea there were so many hustles.

Yes, those are strange flippers. They’re called “banana flippers” and are only found on two games. The other is Time Warp. Usually, they are yellow, but the covers on the flippers of this game have faded to dingy green. This machine is new to our collection and will be refurbished before it’s available to play in our clubhouse. And then, we wait for the day we can be open again. Dang COVID.

So, I remember during the dance segment of junior high PE classes in Weiser, Idaho, we learned how to do the hustle. Must have been a generic hustle because look at all these different versions listed on the artwork.

Here’s what the banana flippers are supposed to look like.
