If you’re going to find a live critter in your bag of romaine lettuce, this is a good one. Right? Found inside one of the lettuce heads I had been storing in the refrigerator, tucked inside one of the leaves as I was taking the head apart to wash it. There was a lot of brownish stuff on the leaf. And also in another leaf. I’m guessing it was ladybug poop.
It appears ladybugs aren’t toxic, but it wasn’t appetizing. I put all the lettuce in the compost bin and set the ladybug free on a zinnia.
