Easter Potatoes? This Week’s Foodie Notes

[@Idahopotatoes on Twitter]
At times, eggs have been scarce over the past month. So the Idaho Potato Commission posted this alternative idea for Easter. I think you have to add an acrylic base, or wrap the spuds in ? first for this to work as pictured. Although, for my home version of the Idaho Potato Drop, Sharpie markers work well, and Glitter Blast spray paint is another option.

Paul and Mary Jean are back from their annual break and Cucina di Paolo on Vista Ave. is open for takeout. Their legendary lasagnas and meal specials every day that are big enough for lunch AND dinner. They own Betty the Washerwoman who is looking spiffy in her nurse outfit and face mask. Mary Jean has a twinsie mask.

I picked up a traditional pan of lasagna yesterday. Mary Jean has the place all decorated for Easter, and this singing llama was just the laugh I needed.

Hops & Bottles in the Linen District has a day drinking bucket offer.

Snake River Wine Tours is bringing the tour to you. Order for delivery via the wine coach.

If it’s within your budget, please buy something local this weekend. A gift card is helpful, too. And if you don’t have a budget, leave a kind review for five places you love. Yelp, Google, Facebook, or a love note on a business social media page or post.

Cheers! Send food tips to deb@riverboise.com
