About that clock radio

Over the years, when I’ve posted a picture of something else on my desk, sharp eyes have pointed out my clock radio. It’s a 1980’s vintage treasure I found in a thrift store. It turns out, although it’s old, it has a fandom. Plenty of claims that it was the “best clock radio design from GE.”

Setting the clock and alarms is simple with the buttons on the front. There are additional features that are more “hidden,” as I discovered in this video on YouTube.

Even at home, I still use a clock radio. Although my home version isn’t as easy to adjust as this one. I use my phone alarms as backup – several of them, IN CASE the power goes out and IN CASE the battery backup on the clock radio fails. Because I get up at 3 am, I am a nervous Nelly that I will oversleep.

If you don’t come across one in a thrift store, this model is available on eBay for around $25.

Recognize my show doodle today? She’s one of my heroes.
