SOAK 2019

Irish singer-songwriter Soak flew in just to play our session in the Blue Moon Listener Lounge! She was very friendly and fun, even thought the airline had lost her luggage and she was surviving on 3 hours of sleep.

Originally from Derry, Soak now loves living in Brighton. When asked about the hilarious Netflix show “Derry Girls,”  she laughed and said, “Every time.” She said it was the best show ever, and very accurate. She was only 18 when her first album came out. She is also known as Bridie Monds-Watson.

Soak talked about musical influences like Tegan and Sara,  and Bon Iver.  She mentioned fighting occasional depression. She said, “Music sucks when you think too hard about it.” The thing she loves about the U.S. is the ability to finally watch the American version of “The Office.” Soak was very pleasant to visit with, and her voice is very unique. We can’t wait to have her return for a full Boise show!
