Just a little lazy about fall gardening

My fall garden chore list isn’t very long. The lazy approach is best to benefit soil health and critters. But don’t overlook compost. This is the time to spread a thin layer on garden beds, around trees and sprinkle on lawns. I use my home-brewed compost. No need to buy any even if you don’t have compost piles. It is free from the City of Boise. Scoop and haul for yourself from the piles on Joplin Road near the firefighter training center, or at the Idaho Botanical Garden.

Here’s a link to some October gardening tips I did for the Idaho Statesman a couple of years ago. Tomato roots make me happy.
