That’s the end. Also, the beginning. I will let these zinnias dry out a little bit more and then harvest some seeds for next year. Although the growing season is over, I don’t rip these plants out of the containers until spring, so birds can browse seeds during the winter.
A gardening note: This killing frost came early this season. Normally, it arrives the third week in October.
