Meet the Weeds

Can you see the weeds? I hadn’t checked on my sugar snap pea garden bed in two weeks. Big mistake. Do you know about creeping woodsorrel? Some people call it “clover” or “shamrocks.” It’s technically categorized as an herb. But it’s a problem.

There were hundreds of woodsorrel plants to remove. Plus, an unexpected sunflower. It didn’t get to stay because it’s thought some sunflowers don’t play nicely with other plants. I don’t want to risk it.

I suspect there are thousands, if not millions, of woodsorrel seeds in the soil, so they will be back.

When digging around in this garden bed, I found six peanuts still in their shells. Squirrel stash.
