BACON for Hope Project Update

Success for the BACON for Hope campaign you’ve heard me talk about on River Mornings. The basketball court at Hope House in Marsing is ready for action today. Here’s what it looked like during the concrete pouring.

BACON, the bistro in Downtown Boise, has adopted Hope House – which is where about 70 kids live after failed adoptions. BACON owner John Berryhill and his son Gibson volunteer at Hope House and since Gibson is a College of Idaho basketball player, he noticed the sport court on the grounds was cracked, uneven and weedy. BACON for Hope was born! And people donated quickly along with donations from the Berryhills.

In fact, people were so generous, the project has added two more phases to make the outdoor area nicer and amendable for outdoor activities. Consider making a donation through GoFundMe.

We’ll be giving away BACON gift cards on River Mornings the week of April 15th as part of this campaign. Bacon for you and BACON donations for Hope House.

Here’s more information about Hope House, a decades-long project to help children safely into adulthood after they’ve been abandoned. I first met the founder when I was in high school. She came to our church in Weiser to share her vision. Look how far it’s come.
