I’m ready to stay up past my bedtime tonight to sample Treefort Music Fest. Podcast here:
Here’s what I will be checking out today. FIRST, I will be at the 10th Street Station at 5 pm for Storyfort: That was Epic – Stories of Failure, Folly, Fandom & Fame
Our Tim Johnstone is one of the storytellers. He has a tale to tell about when the Smashing Pumpkins were at The Record Exchange years ago.
After I laugh until I cry, it’s off to the El Korah Shrine to catch the end of the East Forest show. Ambient psychedelic music that he will be playing this weekend at Yogafort.
Then at 7 at El Korah, the Hosannas. More psychedelic flavor with a dance beat from brothers Brandon and Richard Laws.
At 7:30, I will walk down to the Linen Building to catch a group called Death Matches of a Grade School Nightmare. They promise a lot of PBR slurping at their show.

LED is at El Korah at 8. Andrew Stensaas is the songwriter. He used to be a teacher for my kiddo at Boise Rock School a few years back. Trumpeter John Fricke is a regular competitor at our Treasure Valley Pinball Tournaments. Soul Song is one of my favorites.
At 8:30, back to the Linen Building for a group called Eureka California. They’re from Raleigh, North Carolina. Their bio says their songs are usually no longer than two minutes because they get nervous and play too fast.
IF I can stay up a little later, I will be at the Shredder for Golder Strange.
