Christmas Recycling

It’s a wrap on Christmas, and nearly all that wrapping paper can go into the blue recycling cart.

However, if the paper is shiny, has glitter on it, or is foiled, it’s trash. Glitter is trash. I can hardly stand to type that because I LOVE glitter, but it’s the truth.

Ribbon also stays out of the blue cart.

Remember that trash-recycling-compost pickup is a day later for the rest of the week.

Real Christmas trees can go into the compost bin. Chop them up into smaller sections first.

If doing your own backyard composting, shred or tear the paper up first so it “cooks” more quickly.

If you have cats, well, recycling might be delayed a few days. It’s handy, though, that they will shred the paper for you.
